ClickBank Profit Challenge Update #7: Stop Trying to Sell Everybody

ClickBank Profit Challenge Update #7: Stop Trying to Sell Everybody

The Right Audience May Matter More Than More Traffic

We’re getting closer.

The 3-Day Live ClickBank Profit Challenge begins October 6, and as I continue preparing, another lesson is becoming very clear to me:

You don’t need everybody.

You need the right people.

Earlier in my affiliate marketing journey, it was easy to think that more traffic automatically meant better results.

1,000 visitors must be better than 100 visitors, right?

Not necessarily.

If those 1,000 people aren’t interested in what you’re talking about, they’re mostly numbers on a traffic report.

But 100 people who are genuinely interested in learning about affiliate marketing, building an online business or creating some additional spare-time income?

That’s a completely different audience.

Stop Trying to Sell Everybody

One mistake beginners can make is trying to appeal to everyone.

I’m learning that I don’t need to do that.

When I look at Spare Time Profit, I’m beginning to understand more clearly who I want to help.

People like:

Retirees looking for productive ways to use some of their spare time.

Beginners trying to understand affiliate marketing.

People who have tried online opportunities but haven’t put all the pieces together yet.

People interested in building something online without turning it into another full-time job.

That’s a much clearer audience than simply saying:

β€œAnyone who wants to make money online.”

This Changes How I Think About Traffic

In Update #3, I talked about why more visitors aren’t always the answer.

Now I’m taking that lesson further.

Before I advertise somewhere, I should be asking:

Who is likely to see this advertisement?

Are they interested in affiliate marketing?

Are they beginners?

Are they looking for another way to build something online?

Does my message match what they’re looking for?

The answers matter.

Because buying more traffic from the wrong audience doesn’t necessarily solve a traffic problem.

It can simply make the wrong traffic problem bigger.

The Pieces Are Starting to Connect

Look at what we’ve covered during this Challenge journey:

And in Update #6 we added another important idea:

BUILD SOMETHING YOU CONTROL.

Now Update #7 adds another piece:

PUT THE RIGHT PEOPLE INTO THAT SYSTEM.

That’s starting to look much more like a real marketing strategy than simply posting affiliate links everywhere.

I’m Learning This From My Own Blog

SpareTimeProfit.com is helping me see this firsthand.

I’m not trying to turn this website into a giant collection of random affiliate offers.

I want the site to have a purpose.

My own perspective is part of that purpose.

I’m retired from the military and Department of Defense.

I’m interested in creating additional income during my spare time.

I enjoy St. Croix, Caribbean living, travel and cruises.

And I’m learning more about building an online business.

There are other retirees and beginners who share some of those same interests.

Those are the people I want Spare Time Profit to speak to.

Not everybody.

The right people.

Why Trust Matters More With the Right Audience

When visitors recognize themselves in your content, something changes.

Instead of thinking:

β€œHere’s another advertisement.”

they may think:

β€œThis person is dealing with some of the same things I’m dealing with.”

That’s why I’m sharing what I’m actually learning during this ClickBank Profit Challenge instead of pretending that I already know everything.

I’m learning.

I’m applying.

I’m making changes.

And I’m documenting the journey.

The Countdown to October 6 Is On

We’re now getting close to the live training.

The 3-Day Live ClickBank Profit Challenge runs October 6–8.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the lessons from the live training compare with what I’ve been working on during this buildup.

There are several things I’m particularly interested in:

How to improve my funnels.

How to build a stronger audience.

How to improve follow-up.

How to use traffic more effectively.

And how all these pieces can work together as a system.

I’ll be sharing what I learn right here.
