ClickBank Profit Challenge Update #2: Stop Chasing Sales—Start Building an Audience

One of the ideas I’m focusing on during my ClickBank Profit Challenge journey is the difference between chasing an affiliate sale and building something for the future.

For a long time, it’s easy to think affiliate marketing works like this:

Find an offer → Get an affiliate link → Advertise it → Make money.

If only it were always that simple.

The problem is that when the advertising stops, the traffic often stops too.

So I’m beginning to focus on a different question:

What Am I Building That Will Still Be Mine Tomorrow?

For me, one answer is SpareTimeProfit.com.

Instead of making my entire online business about sending people directly to other people’s websites, I want to continue building a place where readers can come back and see what I’m learning and testing.

That means creating useful content instead of publishing advertisements all day.

Traffic Is Valuable—But an Audience Can Be More Valuable

Imagine buying 500 visitors.

They visit an affiliate offer.

Some click.

Most leave.

And you may never see them again.

Now imagine some of those same people discover your blog first.

They read one article.

Then another.

They begin recognizing the name Spare Time Profit.

They return later to see what else you’ve published.

That’s different.

You’re beginning to build an audience rather than simply buying clicks.

This Changes How I’m Looking at Affiliate Marketing

I’m still going to promote affiliate products.

That’s part of my business.

But I want those promotions to fit into something larger.

My goal is to create a simple cycle:

Create Useful Content

Bring Visitors to Spare Time Profit

↓

Help Them Learn Something

↓

Recommend Relevant Resources

↓

Give Them a Reason to Return

↓

Repeat

That’s a business-building approach I can understand.

Especially for Retirees

At this stage of my life, I’m not interested in spending every waking hour online.

I want to enjoy retirement.

I want time for family.

I want time for St. Croix.

I want time for Virginia.

And I definitely want time to travel and enjoy a cruise when the opportunity comes along.

That’s why the words Spare Time Profit mean something to me.

The goal isn’t to replace your entire life with another job.

It’s about seeing whether some of the spare time you already have can be used to build something useful.

My Challenge Continues

The ClickBank Profit Challenge is giving me another opportunity to examine how I’m approaching my affiliate business.

I’m going to continue learning, implementing, testing, and reporting what happens.

Some things may work.

Some may not.

When something doesn’t work, that’s information too.

I’ll share those lessons here.

If you’re interested, take a look at the information and decide whether the training is appropriate for you.

There are no guarantees of earnings from affiliate marketing or participation in a training program. Results vary, and building an online business takes time, effort, testing, and often financial investment.

My next update will tackle another important subject:

Traffic: More Visitors Aren’t Always the Answer

I’ll explain why I’m becoming more interested in the quality and behavior of my traffic, not simply how many clicks I can buy.
